Financial Inclusion – Evidence and Policy Responses
The limited financial access by large proportion of populations is a major policy concern globally. More than 2.3 billion working age adults do not have access to the formal financial sector based on a varied set of factors and reasons.
Amidst the growing list of supply side initiatives and increasing awareness of the demand side barriers, the problem still persists, thus warranting more analytical attention and policy responses. We are inviting both conceptual and empirical papers, for
a special session on Financial Inclusion, in the forthcoming 9th Annual International Conference on Public Policy and Management at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM-B), Bangalore, India.
The conference will be held between 11-13 August 2014. The selected papers of the session will be published either in a special issue of an international journal or as an edited book.
This special track is organised by Thankom Arun (Institute of Global Finance and Development (IGFD), Lancashire Business School, University of Central Lancashire) and Rajalaxmi Kamath (Center for Public Policy, Indian Institute of Management
Bangalore.)
