Applications are invited for a position of Assistant Professor (non tenure track) at the Institute of International Business (IIB), Vienna University of Economics and Business (Austria).

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide full-time support to the IIB faculty in teaching and administrative work while pursuing an active program of academic research in the broad area of international business. English is the working language of the IIB group, and all courses are taught in English. The Assistant Professor shall fulfill his or her duties in teaching and research in cooperation with representatives of the relevant fields both in and outside the University. The successful candidate is specifically expected to get involved in research projects undertaken by Prof. Puck and Prof. Filatotchev in the areas of international business strategy and governance. He or she shall also pursue continuing education related to any organizational and administrative duties, and/or evaluation activities he or she performs.

Required skills and qualifications

Candidates must possess a doctoral/PhD degree in business and management studies, economics, finance, or related disciplines and have an excellent command of English. Candidates must have demonstrated potential to conduct high-quality research through publications in internationally acknowledged academic journals or submissions in the review process of such journals with high relevance to the field of international business. Proficiency in both qualitative and advanced quantitative research methods (including structural equation modeling and multilevel analysis) is essential. Candidates must be experienced in designing and teaching courses across different levels (e.g. Bachelors, Masters, etc.) and for a culturally diverse student body.

Desirable skills and qualifications

Ideally, candidates should have experience with international research projects and providing services for relevant research communities (e.g. organizing meetings and workshops at international conferences). Evidence of successful grant applications is of advantage.
