Announcement & Call for Papers

3rd Edwards Symposium on Finance, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
June 20-22, 2014

Centre for Strategic Financial Management at the Edwards School of Business, University of Saskatchewan is pleased to announce the 3rd Edwards Symposium on Finance. We invite academics, policy makers and practitioners to submit high quality theoretical and empirical papers in all areas of finance. Special consideration would be given to papers with potential for high impact and that encompass cross-areas such as natural resources/mining finance, corporate finance, corporate governance, and behavioural finance. There is no charge for submission, and all submitted papers will be peer reviewed, with a maximum of twelve top quality papers to be included in the symposium program. The symposium is sponsored by the Centre for Strategic Financial Management at the Edwards School of Business<http://www.edwards.usask.ca/>, and will be held at the Delta Bessborough Hotel<http://www.deltahotels.com/en/hotels/saskatchewan/delta-bessborough/> located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan<http://www.tourismsaskatoon.com/>.

Paper submission process:
All papers must be emailed (in PDF format) to the symposium organizing committee at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>. Please send complete papers as submissions with abstracts only will not be considered. Please include a title page with author information, including contact details of the presenting author. The submitted paper will be reviewed by a panel of scholars in the field of finance. Identifying information will be removed before the papers are sent out for review. The paper submission deadline is February 20, 2014, with notification of acceptance by March 20, 2014.


Travel and Accommodations:
All participants are expected to make their own travel arrangements. Saskatoon John G. Diefenbaker International Airport features scheduled flights from all major Canadian cities and direct flights from three U.S. Airports (Denver, Minneapolis-St. Paul and Chicago O'Hare). Hotel reservations at the Delta Bessborough can be made at 1-800-268-1133. A limited number of rooms are available at the discounted group rate if booked before May 1, 2014 (mention 3rd Edwards Symposium). The symposium registration fee ($200) is waived for the presenting authors provided they register by March 25, 2014. Program Committee:
Program Committee includes a group of scholars at the University of Saskatchewan, and other scholars from the academic finance community.
