Take care Julie > Postdoctoral Position in Discipline-Based Education Research at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln > > The University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) seeks a postdoctoral research associate in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education research. This postdoc will be part of an interdisciplinary research team working to disseminate and integrate research-based instructional strategies in introductory-level university STEM course. This effort is supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation Widening Implementation and Demonstration of Evidence-based Reforms (WIDER) Program. > > The successful candidate will work closely with co-advising faculty and will assist with one or more of the following projects: (i) research on student and faculty perceptions of research-based classroom instruction, (ii) evaluation of a faculty mentorship program, (iii) professional development or faculty membership activities, and (iv) evaluation of a faculty professional development workshop series. > Preference will be provided to candidates who earned a Ph.D. in discipline-based education research (e.g., physics education research, agriculture education research, biology education research, or chemical education research) or a Ph.D. in Science Education with a research focus on higher education instructional practices. A record of scientific publications in peer-reviewed science education journals will be highly valued. The successful candidate will have a substantial background in qualitative research design and methods. The successful candidate will also demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience with NVivo or other similar qualitative software is preferred. The project will involve a team of researchers and thus the candidate must be able to work both independently and in a team environment. > This appointment is for one year with possibility of extending to two additional years based on performance during the first year.
