Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) is looking for a student 
intern to work with the export team and support the State’s Export Program 
with China. 

Job Title: Export Intern

Job Type: Paid Internship

Location: Lansing, MI

Duration:  April 2014 - May 2015 
(The student must able to commit a minimum of one year or longer at this 
position.)

Number of working hours per week: 
40 hours during Summer
a minimum of 20 hours during Fall and Spring semesters

Requirements:
1. Must be Proficient in both English and Mandarin and skilled in written 
translation.
2. Prefer a 2nd-year or 3rd year undergraduate student or a first-year graduate 
student that will still be on-campus during school year 2014-2015
3. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. with a CPT working authorization 
4. Must be well-organized and very detail-oriented (minimum mistakes and high 
standard in the quality of work).
5. Must be good at following directions and complete every assigned task in a 
timely and efficient manner with little or no mistakes.

Responsibilities:
1. Support the upcoming trade mission and trade show to China
2. Maintain and update Michigan company database and record export metrics     
to SalesForce
3. Conduct research and compile data on Michigan export companies and 
export opportunities in China
4. Translation of documents into Chinese or vice versa
5. Other duties as assigned
