The University of Bremen is offering in the Faculty of Business Studies and Economics – conditional to the release of budgetary funds –

positions for fixed term

 

Associate Professors in

 

“Management and Organization Studies” (reference number: P 708/13),

“Marketing” (reference number: P 709/13),

 “Business Informatics” (reference number: P 710/13).

Salary group: W2

Duration: 5 years

 

 

The University of Bremen, a mid-sized university with approximately 250 professorships and 19,000 students, offers a broad range of disciplines and competes internationally in top-level research. With its ambitious institutional strategy the university was successful in the
national Excellence Initiative, launched by the Federal Government and the Federal States, and awarded with excellence status as one of only eleven universities in Germany. The current posts will further strengthen the research profile of the faculty.


The professorship in Management and Organization Studies focuses issues of entrepreneurial management in internationally operating companies and networks or related topics (particularly management of
intellectual property, change management, innovative approaches of organization). The professorship in Marketing deals with aspects of market-oriented management in internationally operating companies (e.g. business-to-business marketing, services marketing). The professorship in Business Informatics addresses issues such as e-commerce/social media, information management including IT-governance  or business intelligence/decision support systems. The profiles relate to both research and teaching.

 

Candidates must show a commitment to cooperate at the level of the Faculty of Business Studies and Economics as well as within the Center for Transnational Studies (www.zen-tra.de) or research initiatives in logistics. Moreover, candidates must have the ability to teach mandatory and elective courses in the Bachelor and Master Degree Programs.

 

A PhD in the respective fields is a requirement for all positions. Successful candidates must have a distinguished academic record in research and teaching and, preferably, in acquiring third-party funding. Candidates are expected to start in September 2014.

 

Fixed term associate professors in the salary group W2 normally receive a gross income of approximately 52,000 Euros and an additional increment of about 7,000 Euros. Teaching requirements are between 8 and 12 hours per week for 30 teaching weeks, depending on individual circumstances.
