Minimum Education/Experience: | Qualifications:
* Ph.D. in management or closely related field from an accredited university;
* Record of sustained scholarship and international reputation commensurate with appointment to an endowed professorship;
* Teaching and research interests in one or more of the following areas: innovation management/facilitation, entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship, sustainability, product/service development and implementation, creativity, new venture creation and opportunity identification, and the role/use of technology and analytics in facilitating business innovation
* Demonstrated record of teaching excellence at the undergraduate, graduate, and executive levels;
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills with students, faculty, alumni, and the local business community;
* Ability and willingness to serve as a liaison between the Belk College and Belk, Inc. for programs that address innovation,
* Ability and willingness to represent the Belk College to the Charlotte business community. |
Essential Job Duties: | The Belk College of Business at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte invites applications for a full-time tenure track position in the area of Business Innovation. The successful candidate will be The Belk Professor of Business Innovation. Business innovation is broadly defined as ideas and processes that add value to business, customers, and society. Areas of research interest may thus focus on a variety of topics including innovation management/facilitation, entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship, sustainability, product/service development and implementation, creativity, new venture creation and opportunity identification, the role/use of technology and analytics in supporting and facilitating business innovation, and managing people for competitive advantage and innovation. Regardless of the specific research focus, candidates must have an outstanding research record, commensurate with appointment to an endowed professorship (or Scholar for Associate Rank).
We are seeking a dynamic and collegial individual with a record of sustained scholarship and teaching excellence who is committed to supporting the College's mission as a major urban research university. A Ph.D. in management or closely related field from an accredited school is required. A strong commitment to excellence in high-quality, innovative research and teaching at the undergraduate, graduate, and executive levels is expected. In addition, the successful candidate will serve as a liaison with Belk, Inc. as well as the general Charlotte business community for programs that address topics on innovation. |
