CALL FOR PAPERS

JIBS Paper Development Workshop

Academy of International Business Western Europe Chapter

Location: EIBA Conference 2013. Faculty Building (room Rotunda III). Bremen

Thursday, December 12, 2013

Submission Deadline: November 15

Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS) Paper Development Workshop (PDW) will be held in Bremen, Germany, from 13:00 pm to 17:00 pm on Thursday, December 12, 2013, as part of the pre-conference program for the European International Business Academy (EIBA) annual meeting.

The PDW will be organized jointly with JIBS, Academy of International Business Western Europe Chapter, and the University of Bremen as local host for the European International Business Academy (EIBA) conference.

The purpose of the PDW is to provide junior scholars with developmental feedback on their current research projects in international business studies. While we hope that many of these papers will be eventually submitted to JIBS, the purpose of the PDW is broader: to improve the quality of IB research and bring new scholars into the IB field. We invite original papers from junior authors or junior faculty members who have not previously published in JIBS.

The program will start with an introductory session led by a member of the JIBS editorial team and/or editors from the Consulting Editorial Board (CEB) or Editorial Review Board (ERB) in addition to the local senior faculty member. This session will cover various topics, including publishing strategies, research topics, what constitutes International Business, among others. Following a short break, authors of research papers that have been selected for the PDW, will be paired with reviewers in a small group setting where reviewers will provide feedback to authors on improving their paper. After a break, all participants will split into small-group sessions with reviewers to discuss successful publication strategies.

Participation at the PDW is limited. Participants will be invited based on the quality of their submitted work. Papers should be submitted to Jose Pla-Barber ([log in to unmask]). Please note that each applicant should make one submission. The deadline for submissions is November 15. Research papers must be less than 10,000 words in length, and follow the JIBS Style Guide (http://www.palgrave-journals.com/jibs/style_guide.html).

Participants will be notified about the acceptance of their submissions no later than November 22 and will need to confirm their participation in the PDW by November 29.
