hi, I'm working on a sick Mac Air, I think the wireless is having hardware problems. I would like to ping the access point from the Mac, just to see if that works. But I can't find an IP address pingable to just test that short hop. The Mac gets something like 35.13.57.33 and has a gateway address of 35.13.56.1, but pinging the gateway doesn't work. (I'm more use to a home situation where the gateway is the wifi AP and you can just ping that hop) Any ideas? thanks PS: I called the help desk, but was on hold for several minutes. And I've noticed there are a lot of young people on campus today, is something happening? :-)
