Details about the workshop can be found below, and also at: http://atlanta.strategicmanagement.net/ig_workshop/global_strategy_paper_dev elopment_workshop.php Global Strategy Paper Development Workshop The fifth SMS Global Strategy Paper Development Workshop (PDW), organized by the Global Strategy Interest Group, will be held in Atlanta, Georgia from 9:00am to 3:00pm on September 28, 2013, as part of the pre-conference program for the Strategic Management Society (SMS) annual meetings. The PDW is organized by the Global Strategy Interest Group but is open to all members of the society. The purpose of this PDW is to provide Global Strategy scholars with developmental feedback on their current research projects in global strategy studies. The PDW is open to all scholars but preference will be given to PhD students and early career academics. While we hope that many of these papers will be eventually submitted to the Global Strategy Journal, Strategic Management Journal, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, and other International Business Journals, the purpose of the PDW is broader: to improve the quality of global strategy research and bring new scholars into the field. We invite original papers from scholars who have not previously published in any of the SMSą flagship journals. The PDW will provide feedback to authors with research papers, and to researchers who are designing empirical studies, on global strategy topics. Furthermore, it will provide participants with the opportunity to meet journal editors, and also senior faculty members in the field. Submission Guidelines: Please upload one document that includes the following items: 1. A current CV 2. A cover letter that (a) indicates how the submitted paper might be refined or developed; and then (b) briefly describes how the submitted paper fits into a broader research agenda 3. Title & Abstract of the paper 4. Your research paper or paper idea Participation at the PDW is limited. Participants will be invited based on the quality of their submitted work. We are expecting two types of submissions, full research papers and paper ideas. Full research papers must be less than 10,000 words in length, and paper ideas must be no more than 3,000 words in length and include a theoretical framework, propositions, and proposed research design.
