Subject: [MCAN-Discussion] Announcement: College Progression and Transfer Reports Coming Soon to MI School Data

P
lease see below for an update from CEPI regarding MiSchoolData updates to come!

--
Michigan's Center for Educational Performance and Information (CEPI) is pleased to announce two upcoming MI School Data reports created for our secondary and postsecondary stakeholders.

* The College Student Progression report will provide student-level information on college enrollment, coursework, cumulative credit, program and award information and grade point averages (GPAs) earned by Michigan high school graduates.

* The College Transfer report will provide counts of students who transferred from 2-year to 4-year institutions, with demographic breakdowns and average GPAs in the first year of transfer.

We expect these reports to be ready for user and keyholder testing in late August 2013 and to go live in mid-September. The initial reports will provide data through 2011-12; they will be updated in October when the 2012-13 data become available.

A workgroup comprised of both secondary and postsecondary participants guided CEPI in designing and developing these reports, including establishing rules of how to use the data. The data will give you powerful ways to evaluate your programs. They will also fulfill state reporting requirements, and potentially save you money if you are currently paying for this information through other sources as the use of these reports from MI School Data is free.

CEPI extends its sincere thanks to the superintendents and principals, presidents, registrars, and institutional researchers who understand the importance of Michigan's longitudinal data system project, and for your commitment to providing quality data that can inform your decision making and, ultimately, improve student outcomes. We hope you share our excitement as we launch these valuable new reports on MI School Data (www.mischooldata.org<http://www.mischooldata.org>).

We will continue to communicate our progress, as well as user support and training resources. And as always, we welcome your feedback.

If you have any questions or comments, please send an email message to the CEPI customer support team at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>, or call (517) 335-0505<tel:%28517%29%20335-0505>, option 3. Please provide your name, institution entity code and institution name (as appropriate), your telephone number (including area code and extension), your email address and your specific questions or comments.
