Dear Colleagues:

Nottingham University Business School China (NUBS China), which focuses on the 3Is of Innovative, Interactive, and has a faculty of about 80 coming from about 20 countries and 2500 top students who all study all programs in English, invites applications for about 16 faculty positions for the Fall of 2014.  In addition, whether interested in applying for a job, looking for a visiting position, looking for research collaborators, or just wanting to interact with some interesting people at the Academy of Management Conference Dean Carl Fey and our faculty (look for us in yellow shirts) invite you to our innovative China-themed reception on Saturday, August 10th from 20:00-22:00 in the Asbury B room of the Disney Yacht and Beach Club Resort (a key conference hotel where many sessions are and the IM division has their reception just before ours).  There is more information on both of these items further below.

NUBS China is currently recruiting for about 16 faculty positions for the Fall of 2014. We are interviewing for the following positions for the Fall of 2014 at the Academy of Management Conference (AOM).  We anticipate making multiple hires for several of these positions.  Our jobs are also advertised on the AOM job website. NUBS China (see attached picture) is an integral part of the Nottingham University Business School awarding the same internationally recognized degrees offered by Nottingham in the UK. In operation for only nine years, NUBS China currently has approximately 2,500 students of which about 250 are enrolled in postgraduate programs including a Ph.D. program.  It has a rapidly expanding international faculty of about 80 coming from about 25 countries permanently based in Ningbo.  It is EQUIS accredited and is part of a university that is highly rated and is seeking to improve further its ranking among the world's top research and teaching universities.  NUBS China obtained a new Dean (Carl Fey) in April 2011 which has resulted in the creation of ambitious plans for NUBS China which the school is rapidly progressing towards including an increasing focus on quality research, executive education, and quality teaching.  NUBS China focuses its efforts around the three Is-international, Innovative, and Interactive.  In addition, NUBS China, which carries out instruction in English, is significantly increasing its research focus and provides an excellent environment and conditions for scholars interested in pursuing an active research agenda.

Ningbo is located only 2 hours from Shanghai by express train. It is a relatively high-income city for China, with a per capita income (PPP basis) of about US $12,000. Ningbo has one of China's largest deep-water ports, a modern airport with excellent connections to cities such as Beijing, Singapore, Hong Kong, Seoul and Taipei and high-speed rail connections to other major cities in China. It has international schools, excellent shopping facilities and an attractive multicultural nightlife. It also has many rivers, lakes and mountains in the outskirts and is considered to be one of the cities in China which has the best quality of life.

NUBS China offers European-level competitive salaries and benefits with reasonable teaching loads.  In addition, an attractive international benefits package including accommodation allowance, travel allowance, support for international schooling (there are three international schools in Ningbo), and insurance (including international medical insurance) will be provided for international appointments.  NUBS China also provides a competitive research support package for candidates showing good research output.  Candidates are expected to have a PhD in a relevant area by the time they start to work.  Excellent English communication skills are essential.  Candidates are also expected to have demonstrated an ability to conduct high-quality research together with strong teaching abilities.

The post will initially be offered on a fixed term contract with the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China for a period of up to 5 years starting 1 September 2014 (an earlier start date may be possible if mutually agreeable). This contract may be extended on an indefinite basis by mutual agreement, subject to revised terms and conditions.
