NEW DEADLINE FOR PAPER SUBMISSION: JULY, 17th
The 8th Iberoamerican Academy Conference, São Paulo, Brazil
From December, 8th to December, 10th 2013
World in Transition: business, multiculturalism and society
The Iberoamerican Academy of Management Conference is an international meeting that takes place every two years, sponsored by the Iberoamerican
Academy of Management (IAM). The 8th IAM Conference will be hosted by the School of Business of the Getulio Vargas Foundation in São Paulo (FGV-EAESP) from December, 8th to December, 10th 2013. The conference theme is World in Transition:
business, multiculturalism and society. It makes reference to the challenges global managers face in a complex and dynamic Latin American environment while dealing with economical, geopolitical, social and cultural changes. How to integrate dissimilar cultures
in the region? How to promote an inclusive environment and cope with inequalities and politics? How local and multinational strategies can interact with local development? And how to deal with challenges related to education and productivity in public and
private organizations? Those are some challenges salient to both practitioners and scholars. With a view towards debating this multifaceted setting of Latin America, the conference is organized around eight tracks:
1. Entrepreneurship and Family Business
2. International Business
3. Organizational Behavior and Human Resources Management
4. Public Administration
5. Competitive Strategy
6. Supply Chain and Innovation Management
7. Organizational Theory and Critical Management Studies
8. World in Transition and Management in Iberoamerican Countries
The conference is organized around competitive paper presentations and round tables with guest speakers, including one meet-the-editor table with Rita
Campos e Cunha (Management Research), Mustafa Ozbilgin (British Journal of Management); Pervez Ghauri (International Business Review), Ilan Alon (International Journal of Emerging Markets), Jorge Carneiro (Brazilian Administration Review), and Ann Cunnlife
(Management Learning).
