Dear colleagues,

Our next speaker at the interdisciplinary Science at the Edge seminar is Michelle Johannes<http://www.public.navy.mil/donhr/Pages/MichelleJohannes.aspx> from the Center for Computational Materials Science at the Naval Research Laboratory. The title of the presentation is

"Using Computational Methodologies to Understand Energy Storage Materials<http://www.pa.msu.edu/seminars/edge/abstracts/2013-05-10.html>".

The seminar will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 10 in room 1400 Biomedical & Physical Sciences Building.

"Dr. Johannes's computational research has contributed strongly to the understanding and improvement of materials properties, especially energy-related materials, by describing and clarifying a surprisingly diverse set of phenomena such as novel superconductivity, electrochemical performance in battery electrodes, fuel cell catalysis, charge density waves and magnetic interactions" (copied from 2011 Sigma Xi Young Investigator Award webpage).

Please email Viktor Poltavets ( [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> ) if you would like to meet with Michelle on Thursday, May 9 or Friday, May 10.

Best regards,

Viktor
