East Lansing Police are investigating recent reports of two sexual assaults
and one attempted sexual assault against three female MSU students in the
city, all of which may have been perpetrated by the same person. The most
recent one happened last night, May 16 around 8pm in the parking lot
outside the Abbott Pointe Apartments. The victim struggled, and finally
escaped and got help from a neighbor. Now the student is out of hospital
and stays at home. Her friends are taking care of her, and she is getting
better. Please don’t disturb her or try to ask for her name, and keep
yourself safe in American. The following is the statement from Abbott
Pointe Apartments:



In reference to the assault incident last night between 7 and 8 pm at Abbot
Pointe, "We are very saddened that this happened to one of our residents.
We have been in close communication with her and she is doing well under
the circumstances of this unfortunate situation. Immediately after being
notified of the incident by our Resident Manager and the East Lansing
Police, we have been proactive in communicating with our residents to be
extravigilant. We are working closely with law enforcement and will
continue to do all that we can, to help ensure the well being of our
residents."

East Lansing police investigate sex assaults



Police in East Lansing are investigating 2 sexual assaults and one
attempted sexual assault.

The most recent one happened last night, May 16 around 8pm in the parking
lot outside the Abbott Pointe Apartments off Abbot Road.

Police say the suspect dragged the victim behind a dumpster, where he
physically and sexually assaulted her before taking off on foot. The
suspect was last seen on Abbot Road just north of Saginaw Street.

The suspect is described as a white male with an average build and height
(5'5"-5'10"), approximately 18-25 years old. He was wearing a faded red or
pink shirt, shorts and gray shoes with white socks.

A similar incident took place around midnight on Saturday, April 20, on
Coolidge Road, south of Lake Lansing Road. The victim was dragged to a
secluded area where she was physically and sexually assaulted.

Less than a week later, on Friday April 26, a woman was attempting to enter
her home in the 300 block of Charles Street around 3am when she was dragged
to a secluded area where she was physically assaulted and an attempted
sexual assault occurred.

All three victims were MSU students and in all three cases, the suspect was
was described as a white male with an average build and height
(5'5"-5'10"), approximately 18-25 years old.
