Yes this happens to people in our office as well when we  IMAP to 
mail.msu.edu.   Client ( Thunderbird, Outlook 2007/2010, Mac Outlook 
2011, and/or iPad) doesn''t seem to matter.  This weekend I noticed it 
was happening a lot.   Repeatedly being asked to re-enter password.  
Super annoying.
