CALL FOR PAPERS

Asia Pacific Journal of Management Paper Development Workshop

Asia Pacific Journal of Management (APJM) will hold a Paper Development
Workshop (PDW) at the 73rd Academy of Management Annual Meeting at
Orlando, U.S.A. (9-13 August, 2013). This PDW is held as a
pre-conference PDW of the Asia Academy of Management (AAM) at the AOM on
10 August, 2013. The PDW will be organized jointly by APJM and AAM.

APJM publishes original manuscripts on management and organizational
research in the Asia Pacific region, encompassing Pacific Rim countries
and mainland Asia. APJM focuses on the extent to which each manuscript
addresses matters that pertain to the most fundamental question: "What
determines firm success?" We seek to publish empirical or conceptual
research which improves a broad understanding of this issue. APJM
endeavors to be the major vehicle for exchange of ideas and research
among management scholars within or interested in the broadly defined
Asia Pacific region.

Date: 10 August, 2013

Time: 11:45a.m. - 2:15p.m.

Objectives:

The objective of this workshop is to offer detailed guidance to
potential authors, with manuscripts that are of maturity for submission
on hand, to finalize their papers for submission to APJM. The guidance
will help authors with interesting research ideas to further polish
their manuscripts into publishable quality, thereby enhancing the
quality and diversity of Asian management research.

Content and Format of the Program:

The PDW will consist of two parts: The first part will be in a panel
discussion format by the APJM editorial team covering various topics
related to publishing, including publishing strategies, selection of
research topics, methodological issues, etc. The second part will be in
the format of round table discussion. Participants and editorial mentors
will be split into smaller groups to discuss manuscripts submitted by
the participants in advance. In order to give detailed and balanced
guidance to the authors, each manuscript will be reviewed by two
editorial mentors. The organizer will select about 10-15 manuscripts for
the workshop.

Intended Participants:

Submission to the PDW is open to prospective authors who intend to
publish in APJM. Ready-to-submit papers with clearly articulated
research questions, literature review, theory and hypotheses, data and
analysis, findings, discussion and conclusion, etc. Papers can cover a
variety of subjects in management studies, e.g., corporate social
responsibility, entrepreneurship, international management, human
resources management, organizational behavior, strategic management,
etc. but should have Asia Pacific regional focus and/or implications.
