Invitation to Attend Workshop on

Research and Publishing in Business Disciplines

At AGBA’s 10th Global Conference in Thailand on June 15---17, 2013

Some of the topics that will be covered in this interactive workshop on research and publishing include the following:

 

·       Potential sources of ideas for scholarly research in business disciplines;

·       Framing of research questions. Some examples from published journal articles of well stated and not so well stated research questions;

·       Importance of research question. Critical self-assessment of importance of research question and clear articulation of the importance of the research question that is the focus of the study in a manuscript;

·       Issues relating to theory, construct definitions, conceptual model development, hypothesis statement and conceptual support for hypothesis. Examples of construct definitions, conceptual model specification, hypotheses and derivative logic for hypotheses gleaned from manuscripts that shed insights in how and why they may be viewed as good or deficient during the manuscript review process;

·       Research design, measurement issues and analysis. Some examples of problems in manuscripts submitted to journals with major problems in these areas that result in their being rejected during the review process); and

·       Some commonly observed correctable and uncorrectable weaknesses in manuscripts submitted to scholarly journals in marketing for review and publication consideration.

Proceedings:

The main theme of the conference is "Business, Green Business and Entrepreneurship Development in a Globalized Era." The conference will feature competitive papers, plenary sessions, case studies, poster presentations, student papers, and panel sessions. Submissions will be subjected to a double-blind review process and will be published in the refereed US conference proceedings (Advances in Global Business Research, ISS# 1549-9332).

 

The primary goal of the conference is to provide a unique global platform to facilitate the exchange of leading edge ideas for effective advancement of knowledge in the field of business administration and entrepreneurship. This will be achieved through multi-disciplinary presentations and discussions of current business and development issues in developing and developed countries.

 

Conference Highlights:

Major highlights of the conference would be complimentary (1) faculty development workshops, (2) AACSB accreditation seminar, (3) industrial visits focused on doing business in Thailand, and (4) one to one mentoring of selected doctoral students.

 

We welcome the submission of manuscripts that address the conference theme as well as all functional areas of business administration and entrepreneurship.
