Assistant or Associate Professor in Strategy and Innovation with a focus on the Energy Sector

Grenobe Ecole de Management, France

Grenoble Ecole de Management invites applications for a full-time position in strategy and innovation at the assistant or associate professor level with a research and teaching focus on the energy sector (starting date September 2013).

Grenoble Ecole de Management (www.grenoble-em.com) is a fast growing business school located at the foot of the French Alps in a vibrant and growing metropolitan area with a strong emphasis on high-tech industries (e.g. energy, nanotechnologies, and microelectronics). The School benefits from this community and has established a strong reputation in the management of technology and innovation. Grenoble Ecole de Management has the triple accreditation AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA. Degrees awarded include Masters (with a specialized master in Energy Marketing and Strategy), MBAs, DBAs, and PhDs. Grenoble Ecole de Management is regularly ranked among the top 20 business schools in Europe; in 2010, its Master of International Business program was ranked 5th in the Financial Times Global Masters ranking. The School’s faculty has published in leading international journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of International Business Studies, Research Policy, Energy Economics, Energy Journal, and Energy Policy. Resources for faculty include a generous research budget, and competitive compensation with an additional research-based bonus system.

The Management & Technology Department invites applications for a position at the assistant or associate professor level with a starting date of September 2013. New faculty will be expected to contribute, in particular, to the Department’s research efforts and reputation in strategy and innovation in the energy sector and teach mostly graduate and post-graduate courses in (one of) the fields of strategy and innovation.

Successful candidates should demonstrate their commitment and ability to conduct excellent academic research with the objective of publishing in top-ranked journals (more senior candidates should have an established international research record and network, junior candidates the potential to develop a top-level research agenda). Candidates should also demonstrate their ability to teach successfully for various levels and audiences and their willingness to be involved in the institution. A specific requirement for this position is the ability to reach out to business in the form of training courses, workshops and (applied) research. A good working knowledge of the French language would be a strong asset, but not a requirement.

Please submit your application materials (letter of motivation, curriculum vitae, 2 reference letters, and 3 recent publications or working papers) via email to the dean of faculty Jean-Philippe Rennard ([log in to unmask]) and to Jonatan Pinkse ([log in to unmask]) before April 1st, 2013.
