Clinical Professor of International Business
The Sonoco International Business Department, Darla Moore School of Business, at the University of South Carolina is conducting a search for a non-tenure track Clinical Professor. Rank is at the Assistant or Associate Professor, although exceptional candidates at higher rank may be considered. The start date is August 2013.
Candidates should have expertise teaching courses such as international business, international management, cross-cultural communications, and international negotiations. Responsibilities will include teaching courses in these international business areas. Experience conducting and overseeing cross-national research is also required. The clinical professor will help develop and deliver curricula in which students conduct primary field research abroad. A completed doctoral degree in a related field such as management or the social sciences is required. Ideally the candidate will maintain academically qualified status within the AACSB framework through ongoing contributions to theory, practice, and/or learning. Consideration may also be given to candidates with a master’s degree and significant industry experience.
The primary vision for the international business department is to take a leading role in the development of high impact research and programming on global business. The department is unified by its interest in understanding the multinational enterprise (MNE) and the institutional context within which the MNE operates. The department includes faculty with diverse disciplinary backgrounds. This combination, a shared focus on the MNE and diverse perspectives, facilitates collaborative efforts to support multidisciplinary, cross-functional, and/or multilevel perspectives.
