From: Alex Rialp (Autonomous Univ. of Barcelona) ____________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________ Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), Business Department Tenure-Track Positions as Assistant Professor in 1) Accounting-Finance (REF ACC-FIN), 2) Operations Research-Production Management (REF OR-PM), and 3) Managerial Economics (REF MAN-ECO). The Business Department at Universitat Autònoma Barcelona invites applications for 3 full time positions for junior level candidates in accounting-finance, operations research-production management/ information systems, and managerial/business economics. The positions will be effective in September 2013 and continue over a minimum period two years with the possibility of being extended over other five years. There are no administrative responsibilities, but the newly recruited academics are expected to teach at the undergraduate/graduate level and contribute to the department through research. However, the teaching load will be conveniently reduced (English, Spanish and/or Catalan courses are available). The Business Department has active teaching and research groups in the above-mentioned areas with 150 employees. It is located in the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies. Universitat Autònoma Barcelona is the first university in Spain according to the QS Ranking 2012/2013. It is located at position 176 in the world ranking (and 76 in Europe), standing top 100 worldwide in the field of Social sciences (95).The University was founded in 1968. It currently enrols about 40,000 students and 3,500 academics (teaching and research staff) and is located at 20 km. from the city of Barcelona with excellent public transport facilities. Qualifications: The candidate must have a PhD. in Accounting-Finance, Management, Operations Management, Business Economics or a related field from a reputable university received before September 2013. He/she must demonstrate a strong commitment to scholarly research and potential for high-quality research with reasonable publications in international refereed journals or expectations for potential future publications. Flexibility to join and collaborate with the research in progress in the department will be considered. The candidates are also expected to actively engage in research seminars and similar activities at the Department. As regards teaching, demonstrated teaching competences in the related fields of the position are also required. The candidate should have good communication skills in English (applicants must be fluent but not necessarily native speakers) and familiarity with a technologically infused academic environment.
