CALL FOR PAPERS


The 6th Annual Conference for the Academy of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (AIE 2013) will be held in Oxford, United Kingdom, on 29-30 August 2013. The Technology and Management for Development Centre based in the University of Oxford Department for International Development will host the event on the Oxford campus. The AIE Conference provides a broad platform to convene scholars from around the world to present research and to stimulate discussions on critical research issues and new developments in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The main theme this year is ‘Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Inclusive and Sustainable Development’.

Distinguished keynote speakers for the AIE 2013 include:
Anne Miroux (United Nations Conference on Trade and Development - UNCTAD)
Calestous Juma (Harvard University)
Luc Soete (Maastricht University and United Nations University)
Martin Bell (University of Sussex, Science and Technology Policy Research)
Xin Fang (Chinese Academy of Sciences)

Papers focusing on the following issues would be of particular interest:

Award and Publication
The conference committee will award one Best Paper prize. For those who are interested, their paper submitted to the conference can be considered for publication in Oxford Development Studies following normal peer review process. This should be indicated in the cover page of the submitted paper.


Submission of Papers
Authors are invited to submit a full paper or an extended paper outline (2-4 pages) online at http://www.aieconference.org by 30 April 2013. Please submit the paper in electronic format (PDF files only). The files should be names as [last name_first name of the presenting author_AIE2013].

The conference will provide a reduced conference rate for PhD students. Papers submitted by PhD students should indicate this by adding [_PhD paper] to the file name. A letter from his/her PhD supervisor confirming the student’s PhD status should also be included when register for the conference.

Papers will be selected by the Programme Committee consisting of a panel of international scholars. Authors will be informed by 30 May 2013 whether their papers are accepted. Full papers are required by 31 July 2013.
