I am pleased to share two new tenure-track faculty positions within the College of Science at Virginia Tech. A research focus for these new positions lies within Discipline-Based Education Research (DBER). The College of Science is comprised of the following departments: biological sciences, chemistry, economics, geosciences, mathematics, physics, psychology, and statistics. Successful candidates will have a home in one of the College's eight departments and will be willing and able to participate in the College's recently launched Integrated Sciences Curriculum (
www.science.vt.edu/isc).
Given its focus on interdisciplinary science and the importance of research in the learning and teaching of science at the undergraduate level, the College seeks to hire researchers whose focus lies within integrated science/science education. As such, researchers that identify with PER, for example, are highly desirable and extremely encouraged to apply. Those with interests in interdisciplinary science education research are particularly encouraged to apply. Further details can be found at:
http://www.science.vt.edu/jobs/jobs-is-stem-TR0122516.htmlAppointments at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full will be made. Review of applications will begin December 1, 2012.
