Job Posting Title: Assistant/Associate Professor in (1) Entrepreneurship; (2) International Business/International Management, and (3) Operations and Supply Chain Management

The Positions: The Eberly College of Business and Information Technology (accredited by AACSB International), Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), invites applications for three full-time tenure-track Management faculty positions to teach undergraduate and graduate courses effective August 2013. Rank (assistant or associate) will be commensurate with qualifications, including prior teaching experience, published research, and demonstrated service.

Required Qualifications: An earned doctoral degree with a concentration within Business Administration is preferred. Applicants who are ABD with significant progress toward completion will be considered. For the three (3) open positions, the Management Department is especially interested in candidates with credentials in one of the following three primary areas: (1) Entrepreneurship; (2) International Business/International Management, and (3) Operations and Supply Chain Management. Such candidates with additional credentials in one or more of the areas of Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior, and Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility are highly desirable.

The position requires evidence of effective teaching, demonstrated publishable research, commitment to service, and strong communication skills. For the entrepreneurship position, the individual hired will be involved in departmental economic development services. The faculty member may be assigned to provide instruction at off-campus sites and/or instruction through distance education. Candidates must communicate effectively and perform well during the campus interview(s), which may include a teaching demonstration.

Job Summary

 

The Department of Management in the School of Business at the University of Connecticut invites applications for a faculty position at the Stamford campus, with teaching responsibilities primarily at the Stamford, Waterbury, and West Hartford campuses. The position is full-time, 9-month, at the rank of Assistant Professor In-Residence, beginning Fall 2013.

 

The Management Department, one of five departments in the School of Business, actively engages in research in strategic management, organization behavior, entrepreneurship, and globalization. The department is consistently ranked among the top-twenty in the world in research productivity and was ranked 17th in 2009. Duties and Responsibilities

 

Teaching

Teach Management classes primarily in the area of Organizational Behavior at the undergraduate and MBA levels.  The ability to teach Entrepreneurship, Strategic Management and/or other Management area courses is desirable.

 

Research

Conduct research publishable in high quality practitioner and teaching oriented Management journals and scholarly books.

 

Service

Participate in service activities within the University and provide outreach to the business community.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

 

Earned Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Management or related field from an AACSB-accredited institution or equivalent, with expertise in the field of Organizational Behavior, and demonstrated teaching excellence in higher education. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

 

Preference will be given to individuals with additional expertise in and the ability to teach Entrepreneurship, Strategic Management and/or other Management area courses (such as Human Resource Management, Cross-Cultural Management, Negotiation, Career Dynamics). A demonstrated publication record is also desirable as is a record of either professional management experience and/or academic outreach to the business community. Additional preferred qualifications include the ability to supervise students in learning accelerator projects and experience teaching at the Executive MBA, part-time MBA, and undergraduate levels. 

 

Appointment Terms: 

 

The position is full-time, 9-month, at the rank of Assistant Professor In-Residence, beginning Fall 2013. In-Residence positions are non-tenure track, but may be renewed annually.  Salary will be commensurate with candidate credentials and experience.
