Job Posting Title: Assistant Professor In-Residence, Organizational Behavior

Job Summary

The Department of Management in the School of Business at the University of Connecticut invites applications for a faculty position at the Stamford campus, with teaching responsibilities primarily at the Stamford, Waterbury, and West Hartford campuses. The position is full-time, 9-month, at the rank of Assistant Professor In-Residence, beginning Fall 2013.

The Management Department, one of five departments in the School of Business, actively engages in research in strategic management, organization behavior, entrepreneurship, and globalization. The department is consistently ranked among the top-twenty in the world in research productivity and was ranked 17th in 2009. Duties and Responsibilities

Teaching
Teach Management classes primarily in the area of Organizational Behavior at the undergraduate and MBA levels.  The ability to teach Entrepreneurship, Strategic Management and/or other Management area courses is desirable.

Research
Conduct research publishable in high quality practitioner and teaching oriented Management journals and scholarly books.

Service
Participate in service activities within the University and provide outreach to the business community.

Minimum Qualifications:

Earned Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Management or related field from an AACSB-accredited institution or equivalent, with expertise in the field of Organizational Behavior, and demonstrated teaching excellence in higher education.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to individuals with additional expertise in and the ability to teach Entrepreneurship, Strategic Management and/or other Management area courses (such as Human Resource Management, Cross-Cultural Management, Negotiation, Career Dynamics). A demonstrated publication record is also desirable as is a record of either professional management experience and/or academic outreach to the business community. Additional preferred qualifications include the ability to supervise students in learning accelerator projects and experience teaching at the Executive MBA, part-time MBA, and undergraduate levels.

Appointment Terms:

The position is full-time, 9-month, at the rank of Assistant Professor In-Residence, beginning Fall 2013. In-Residence positions are non-tenure track, but may be renewed annually.  Salary will be commensurate with candidate credentials and experience.
