Geoscience Educators, Reminder, early registration ends today! Short course on creating access to the geosciences for students with disabilities to be held at the Geological Society of America Annual Meeting in Charlotte, NC. #508. Instructional Approaches to Access, Accommodation, and Inclusion of Students with Disabilities in the Geosciences. Sat., 3 Nov., 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Room 501. The presentation of this course will include student instructors who will discuss first-hand perspectives of negotiating the rigor of a geoscience curriculum while managing their disabilities. Key topics will include: accommodation in the geosciences; the physical barriers to access and inclusion; and the personal, psychological and social challenges that students may face away from the classroom.
