Eastern Michigan University School of Social Work is pleased to announce four tenure-track positions for assistant professor. These are tenure-track, eight-month contracts available beginning in Fall 2013. The School's mission of empowerment-oriented practice guides the curriculum of our CSWE-accredited BSW and MSW programs. The BSW program focuses on generalist practice while the MSW offers advanced training in three fields of practice: Child and Family, Mental Health/Chemical Dependency; and Aging Services. The EMU School of Social Work educates employed students by providing flexible programming and a curriculum focused on developing practice competencies. MSW classes are scheduled evenings and Saturdays to accommodate student work schedules. Undergraduate course have both day and evening scheduling. Applicants must have an MSW and five years of post-MSW practice experience. Ph.D. strongly preferred. Other qualifications include the capacity to contribute to the University the profession and community through service activities and demonstrated potential to teach and to engage in scholarly activities including publication. Preferred applicants will have demonstrated ability to engage in practice related to the School's mission, as well as potential to teach advanced curriculum courses in the areas of services to children and family; services to people with mental illness and chemical dependency; and/or services to the aging.
