I don't mean to take credit (or blame) away form DAK, but I think it 
was I (dkm) who revived the thread when I returned from vacation, 
simply by innocently asking, "But will we have any choice?  Do we 
ever?"  (Until then, the thread had only 2, very short, replies.  But 
who's counting?)
