I installed Thunderbird v14 in a new computer, then tried to set an POP account. It never worked. IMAP would be fine but not POP no matter what I tried. At the end of many tryouts I downloaded Firefox v 5 and everything worked fine, the POP account was created as expected. Once the account worked, I updated Thunderbird to the current version. Seems to me like there is something wrong with Thunderbird v 14 or something wrong with Thunderbird v 14 and the way it interacts with mail.msu.edu.
