Esteemed Colleagues,

The EarthScope team would like to inform the group about two opportunities to present at sessions focused on geoscience education and research related to the EarthScope Project—one at AGU and one at GSA:

AMERICAN GEOPHYSICAL UNION FALL MEETING, San Franciscosubmission deadline 8 August

ED017. EarthScope in Geoscience Education and Outreach

Co-sponsors: IN, G, NH, NS, S, DI, T, and V

Steven Semken, J. Ramón Arrowsmith, Steven J. Whitmeyer

As instrumentation and activities of the EarthScope program extend across the contiguous United States, important findings based on EarthScope science appear regularly in the research literature and even in the press and social media. More and more educators are using EarthScope facilities, research activities, data, and results to enhance and promote quality teaching, STEM teacher professional development, place-based education, and public Earth science literacy in formal and informal contexts. Educators and researchers who use EarthScope facilities, projects, data, or findings for geoscience education or outreach to students, teachers, decision-makers, and the public can feature and share their practices, materials, and outcomes.

To submit an abstract, please go to http://agu-fm12.abstractcentral.com/ .  The deadline for submission is 14 August, but earlier submissions are welcome.
