The Conference
The Academy of International Business Southeast USA (AIB-SE) is one of the two largest and most active regional divisions of the AIB’s 16 worldwide divisions. AIB-SE’s 2012 annual conference will be held on October 31 - November 2, 2012 at Florida Atlantic University, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA and centers on the presentation of the newest ideas in international business to an international audience of academic scholars and business practitioners. The conference is characterized by a strong developmental focus, providing participants with a supportive and collegial platform to discuss and develop ideas, and mentoring and helping authors enhance their papers for publication. For more information, please visit the conference website at www.aibse.org.

AIB-SE Doctoral Student Consortium
As part of the conference, AIB-SE is holding a doctoral student consortium inviting PhD students to submit research papers and defended dissertation proposals in abbreviated format. Students will receive feedback on their individual research projects as well as ideas and guidance for their future research agenda. This developmental session with senior faculty will provide doctoral students the opportunity to enhance their scholarly work in preparation for publication. There will also be some time for doctoral students to interact with participating faculty on topics of broad interest such as new trends in international business research, managing the dissertation stage and the job search process, and successful entry into the academic career. The Consortium will be followed by a Meet-The-Editors session allowing doctoral students to interact with editors and publishers of academic journals. The Doctorial Student Consortium and Meet the Editors session will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2012.
The most suitable candidates for the Consortium are Ph.D. students in any business discipline with an international focus who have completed their course work, are in the dissertation stage of their programs, and have a relatively clear idea about their dissertation research or other international research project. In order to make the consortium an effective exchange forum, we will restrict the number of participants and will emphasize quality and research potential of the dissertation/research topic.
