The institute of human resource management and Asian business at the University of Goettingen invites applications for a

 

Postdoctoral Research Fellow

 

The position is initially available for 12 months starting 1 October 2012 or later and can be extended for up to 6 years following satisfactory performance and mutual agreement. The position is anticipated as a full-time position (39.8 hours per week) but can be negotiated to a part-time position (19.9 hours).Salaries are in accordance with the German state regulated public service salary scale (pay grade 13 TV-L).

 

About the university and institute:

The University of Goettingen, founded in 1736, is one of the highest ranked German universities. More than 40 Nobel Laureates and well-known people, such as J.P. Morgan, Max Weber, and Gerhard Schroeder, have been associated with the university. In response to the growing importance of Asia, the university has set up a new institute of human resource management and Asian business with Professor Fabian Jintae Froese as the chair holder. The institute is interested in examining research topics in the area of cross-cultural management and international human resource management with a regional focus on China, Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia.

 

Your profile and duties:

Candidates for the postdoctoral position should hold a doctorate (ABD will be considered) in Business, Psychology, Sociology, Asian Studies or related fields. Evidence or potential of publishing in reputable peer-reviewed journals is expected. The candidate is expected to engage in research and teaching in the context of the institute¡¯s research foci and in cooperation with the institute¡¯s members. Other requirements include excellent communication skills, commitment to empirical research, and interest in interdisciplinary research. The working language of the institute is English and applicants from outside Germany are encouraged to apply.
