The University of San Francisco School of Management seeks applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in the field of entrepreneurship at the rank of assistant or associate professor starting Fall 2012. The School seeks applicants with a specialization in venture capital and high-growth ventures. Successful experience of teaching entrepreneurial management and entrepreneurial finance at the graduate and undergraduate levels is preferred and venture capital experience or practical knowledge of the industry would be an advantage. This new position will help us expand and enhance our entrepreneurship teaching and research capabilities, strengthen our relationships with the venture capital community and help us identify new and distinctive opportunities in this exciting and dynamic field.

 

A successful candidate must meet the following minimum qualifications: (1) an earned doctorate in entrepreneurship or a related field by the time of appointment; (2) an expectation of excellence in teaching; and (3) an established or emerging research program.  The successful candidate will teach both undergraduate and graduate courses.  The candidate will also be expected to undertake scholarly research in a collaborative and supportive environment that welcomes inter-disciplinary and practice-oriented scholarship as well as discipline-based and theoretical work. Candidates should have published, or demonstrate the potential to publish, in high quality scholarly journals.

 

The School of Management offers baccalaureate and masters degree programs in a range of business and management areas. Located on the Hilltop campus in the center of the city, the University has recently purchased a landmark building in the heart of the San Francisco financial district that will house the School’s graduate programs starting in Fall 2012, further enhancing its enviable location in one of the world’s great centers of entrepreneurial innovation.
