Tenure Track position in International Business at Bryant University ¡V Starting Fall 2012


Position Description

Bryant University seeks to fill a tenure-track position in the Department of Management (rank is Assistant).  Bryant seeks a candidate with a strong commitment to excellence in scholarly research and teaching in the field of international business.  A secondary interest in strategic management is highly desirable.  The position entails conducting rigorous academic research with relevance to a managerial audience.  Faculty members at Bryant have the opportunity to draw upon data sources available through our Chafee Center for International Business and U.S.-China Institute for use in international business research.  A new faculty member may teach in our undergraduate (BSBA and BSIB) as well as graduate (MBA) programs.  They also may have the opportunity to travel internationally with colleagues and students as part of our Sophomore International Experience.  Additional course assignments will depend on the candidates¡¦ interests and experience. 

Qualifications

Candidates must have a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Management from an AACSB-International accredited school.  ABD in management with completion expected by August 1, 2012 from an AACSB accredited school will be considered.  Candidates should be committed to teaching excellence, establishing a scholarly publication record consistent with AACSB standards, and serving as active members of the Bryant community.   The demonstrated capacity to conduct research that speaks to both academic and managerial audiences is highly desirable.  The successful candidate must be able to teach courses at both the undergraduate (BSBA and BSIB) and graduate (MBA) level.   Successful candidates also will demonstrate the potential, as their career progresses, to conduct a variety of scholarly activities that support research and teaching, e.g., building new programs, writing research grants, establishing connections with the business community, and developing new courses.
