Call for Editor-in-Chief: IBRTP

The Academy of International Business Southeast (AIB-SE) USA is looking for a new editor for its journal, International Business: Research, Teaching and Practice. AIB-SE is among the two biggest and most active regional chapters of the Academy of International Business (among AIB’s 16 regional chapters around the world) and holds annual conferences with a doctoral student consortium, journal paper development workshop, competitive and interactive papers session, panels and a variety of social networking events. Last year’s conference, which was held on the campus of Rollins College in Orlando, Florida, was attended by scholars from 25 countries representing 6 continents.

Since 2007, the journal has published “best papers” of the AIB-SE annual conferences as well as externally submitted articles. It is listed in Google Scholar and Cabell’s directory and has an acceptance rate between 17-22% (around 19% in 2011) The journal has traditionally published one volume per year. However, in the last two years, it has increased it to two per year partly through commissioned Special Issues.

International Business: Research, Teaching and Practice (IBRTP) draws on articles from all areas of international business, including, but not limited to, emerging markets, transnational corporations, modalities of international business operations, cross-cultural management, foreign direct investment and trade, international human resource management, international marketing, cross-national accounting systems and standards, international financial management, among others. IBRTP articles contribute not only to theory development and testing, but also to the practice and pedagogy of the field.

IBRTP has made progress under its previous and current editors, associate editors, and editorial board, and the incoming editor is expected to build on their experiences and talents, and collaborate with those who want to add value. The Board of AIB-SE would welcome nominations as well as applications for the editorship of the journal. Please include a cover page explaining your vision for the journal, value added, and relevant experiences. Please also include a full resume to the application.

Please send applications and nominations to (Ilan Alon, AIB-SE 2012 Chair, [log in to unmask]) by July 31, 2012. A decision regarding the future editorship will be made by the board of AIB-SE during its 2012 annual meeting, which will be held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida from Oct. 31 – Nov. 2 this year. The position is expected to begin January, 2013 although involvement in the 2012 AIB-SE conference is strongly encouraged.
