DIRECTOR OF SCIENTIFIC DRILLING

 

DOSECC, a not-for-profit corporation that provides leadership and technical support in subsurface sampling and monitoring, is soliciting applications for a Director of Scientific Drilling. The successful candidate will work with DOSECC’s President, Membership, Board of Directors, Science Planning Committee and the scientific drilling community to coordinate drilling project planning as well as to develop new initiatives. The Director will be responsible for leading activities on grant applications and aiding scientific investigators by formulating drilling plans, schedules and budgets. The Director will also coordinate with other scientific organizations that have interests in drilling as well as collect operational data and publish papers describing scientific drilling projects. Requirements for this position include a Ph.D. in geology or a closely related field. A track record of successful grant applications and knowledge of Federal funding procedures is necessary. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in scientific or industry drilling operations. The successful candidate will be based in Salt Lake City and will report to the President of DOSECC.
