Dear Members of the World Investment Network,

I would like to draw your attention to UNCTAD's forthcoming Multi-Year Expert Meeting on Investment for Development on 5-6 December 2011.

The Expert Meeting will focus on “Investment for development: current policy challenges”. It will consider how to integrate investment policies into overall development strategies, balance promotion and regulation of investment for sustainable development, and achieve coherence with regard to international investment agreements (IIAs). The meeting is planned as an interactive floor debate without panellists (see attached programme). A background note on the meeting is available at http://www.unctad.org/en/docs/ciimem3d11_en.pdf

The meeting is open for interested participants - governments, IIA practitioners as well as relevant international organizations - wishing to engage and contribute to substantive discussions.

We look forward to your interest in the forthcoming meeting.
