I would like to draw your attention to UNCTAD's
forthcoming Multi-Year Expert Meeting on Investment for Development
on 5-6 December 2011.
The Expert Meeting will focus on “Investment
for development: current policy challenges”. It will consider how to integrate
investment policies into overall development strategies, balance promotion
and regulation of investment for sustainable development, and achieve coherence
with regard to international investment agreements (IIAs). The meeting
is planned as an interactive floor debate without panellists (see attached

The meeting is open for interested participants
- governments, IIA practitioners as well as relevant international organizations
- wishing to engage and contribute to substantive discussions.
