Senior Position in Chinese Business

GEORGIA STATE UNIVERSITY invites applications for a tenure-track position in Chinese Business to join the faculty of Robinson College of Business. Partially funded by the University's Second Century Initiative, this scholar will further strengthen the interdisciplinary focus on Chinese studies at Georgia State University. This position will enhance the research capability of the Institute of International Business (IIB) which was recently designated as a national resource center in international business (CIBER) by the U.S. Department of Education. Rank is at associate or full professor with possibility of an endowed chair. The ideal candidate will be a critical and strategic addition to the College's core international business faculty. In addition to conducting research and teaching courses on international business, this hire would provide intellectual leadership to China-focused research and publish in leading scholarly outlets.

The University's Second Century Initiative (http://www.gsu.edu/secondcentury/) is aimed to build nationally recognized scholarly strength and critical mass around common research themes in order to enhance Georgia State University's overall excellence, interdisciplinary richness, and competitiveness. It is designed to build upon the University's strategic plan and unit action plans, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration. An expected outcome is the acceleration of collaborative faculty research to support the expansion of new knowledge, scholarship and research activities. The Chinese Business Position is part of a cluster hire on Chinese Studies proposed jointly by the College of Arts and Science and the Robinson College of Business, which also include positions in Chinese language and Chinese political economy. These hires jointly strengthen the University's interdisciplinary research, teaching, and outreach efforts in China-related programs with support from the Confucius Institute (http://www.gsu.edu/ci/) and CIBER (http://robinson.gsu.edu/ciber/index.html).
