    1st Doctoral/Junior Faculty Research workshop  
        Deadline 10 November 2011
   The 2012 AIB-MENA Chapter is pleased to announce  the 
   1st  Doctoral  Workshop which will take place on the 14-15th  of  January 2012 at Zayed University in Dubai as part of the 2nd Annual AIB-MENA conference.  
    The Doctoral  Workshop  will provide a unique opportunity for doctoral students to discuss their thesis with internationally acknowledged faculty and with their colleagues from other institutions, to further develop their research ideas,  to manage the dissertation stage and to receive concrete feedback on their individual current research projects as well as ideas and guidance for their future research agenda. 
    
    The faculty who will participate  in the  Doctoral Workshop include:  
    1.    Christos Pitelis, University of Cambridge, UK
   2.      Bent Petersen, Copenhagen Business School, Denmark
   3.      Pervez N Ghauri, King’s College London, UK
   4.      Ram Mudambi, Fox School of Business, Temple University, USA
   5.      Daniël Van Den Bulcke, University of Anwerp, Belgium
   6.      Ravi Ramamurti, College of Business Administration, Northeastern University, USA
   7.      Robert Desmond Pearce, University of Reading, UK
   8.      Juan José Durán Herrera, Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, Spain
     
 
   In order to make the Doctoral Workshop a rewarding experience we ask interested Doctoral students to submit their CV and a 3 page research proposal which should be structured around the following points:
    - 1.      Objective of the thesis and research questions
 - 2.      Theoretical background and literature review
 - 3.      Methodology and data –research design
 - 4.      Expected results and contribution of the thesis

         The research proposal should state the academic institution at which the research is undertaken, name of the main advisor(s) and also the dissertation stage (in terms of months or years students have been working on their Doctorate).
   The workshop is encouraging participation of all Doctoral students researching in topics of interest to the AIB and in particularly of Doctoral students undertaking research in academic institutions located in the MENA region. 
    Junior Faculty
   The Doctoral Workshop is also open to Junior Faculty researching and teaching in MENA-based academic institutions who would like to discuss their ongoing research agendas. Junior Faculty interested in participating should submit their CV, a one page proposal of their research agenda or a paper in progress by the 10th November 2011
