Special issue of Long Range Planning ' Exploring the strategic
role of subsidiaries in competence-creation' Guest editors:
Rajneesh Narula and Alan Rugman
Due to popular demand, we have decided to extend the deadline for
the special issue of Long Range Planning ' Exploring the strategic
role of subsidiaries in competence-creation' to December 31 2011.
For those of you who have missed the Call for Papers, this is
appended here as an attachment.
We have also received several enquiries as to the style of papers
this special issue will be accepting. LRP now accepts both academic
and practitioner-based papers. This SI will have a bias towards
academic-style submissions. All submissions are expected to develop
strong theoretical foundations and implement rigorous methodologies.
These include quantitative studies, qualitative and case studies,
multi-country comparative studies, replication studies and studies
of specific subsidiaries and MNEs. In summary, this special
issue will publish 'conventional' academic articles. Although
LRP has no official guideline, we suggest 10k words as an indicative
guide (including references and appendices).
Finally, we intend to organise a one-day workshop at the Henley
Business School in Reading, UK in May 2012. Submissions that
are shortlisted (after appropriate reviews) will be invited to
present their papers at this workshop, with a view to refining and
developing the final set of papers for the special issue. We intend
to announce the dates for this workshop in January 2012. Prospective
authors may present their work and receive comments and feedback.
Note that invitation to the workshop does not imply acceptance for
the special issue. Conversely, attendance is not prerequisite for
publication in the special issue.
