Food System Economic Partnership to Host Community Forum on 2012 Farm Bill
**ANN ARBOR, Mich., August 8, 2011**
The Food System Economic Partnership (FSEP) will host a forum to
inform community members about key issues surrounding the Farm Bill, discuss why the Farm Bill is important to southeast Michigan, and learn how to effectively advocate
for a Farm Bill that represents the region’s best interests.
This free event will take place on Wednesday, August 10 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm in the Community Room at the Whittaker Branch of the Ypsilanti District Library, located at 5577 Whittaker Road in Ypsilanti. Welcome and sign-in begins at 6:00pm, snacks will be
provided.
FSEP is a regional nonprofit organization serving southeast Michigan. Established in 2004, FSEP exists
to catalyze change that results in vibrant and sustainable food economies in communities across southeast Michigan.
One way FSEP works to affect change is through food policy advocacy. The Farm Bill, federal legislation governing many areas of food and agriculture, is up for
reauthorization in 2012. This reauthorization process presents an important opportunity to shape federal food, conservation, and energy policies for the next five years. For more information, visit
