Preference will be given to applicants with competencies in any area of engineering or science who are active in discipline-based education research and have the ability to teach foundational STEM and education courses. The unique combination of engineering and science education foci in the department facilitates dynamic cross-disciplinary collaborations in research and teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the department's engineering and science education mission by establishing a strong research program (external funding, peer-reviewed scholarly work, national/international collaborations, mentoring of undergraduate/graduate researchers), teach foundational STEM education courses (e.g. educational theory in STEM teaching and learning), and participate in departmental/college service. > > The position is expected to begin in August 2012. Requirements include a Ph.D. in engineering or science education or a related field with strengths in discipline-based education research, a demonstrated record of peer-reviewed publications, evidence of or potential for external funding, and demonstrated effectiveness in teaching at the college level.
