18th Annual International Business Ethics Conference

October 26-28, 2011

 

Hosted by St. John's University, Manhattan campus (in co-sponsorship with DePaul and Niagara universities)

 

This annual international conference promoting business ethics is interdisciplinary encouraging submissions from all business disciplines, philosophy, psychology, sociology, theology, law, etc. Presentations on the wide-range of business ethics topics are sought. However, ones in the topical area of sustainability are especially encouraged, since this will be the theme for this conference.

 

Submissions can be on theory or practice (including case studies) as well as panel or symposium format presentations.

 

Format for Proposals

We are looking for business professionals and academics who have an interest in business ethics (in its broadest and widest sense) to submit presentation proposals. Final proposals will be selected through a blind referee process. Proposals should be at least 200 words (though full papers or lengthy proposals are helpful). You should provide contact information, ideally including: preferred email, mailing address, office and mobile or home phone numbers. You must include your institutional affiliation and position.

 

Best papers will be invited to be published in the Journal of Business Ethics. A proceedings will be published including abstracts and completed papers.

Important Dates

•    September 5, 2011, Extended due date for proposals

•    September 30, 2011, Completed full papers and abstracts for conference printing and distribution due

•    January 30, 2012, following the conference, participants will be invited to submit finalized papers to a special edition of the Journal of Business Ethics by this date

 

Conference Registration

The conference registration fee ($300) includes two continental breakfasts, three lunches, a welcoming reception, daily morning and afternoon refreshments and electronic distribution of conference papers and abstracts.

 

Conference dates: October 26-28, 2011. The St. John’s University Manhattan campus is two blocks from the PATH train line to Jersey City, Hoboken, and Newark, where hotel prices are quite affordable. Several suggested nearby Manhattan hotels are listed at: http://goo.gl/zEDO4 .
