Esther, Thank you for your reply. I beg to differ. The issue is whether the the fault is due to the browser, or due to the web application that wishes to run in the browser. If a web application (i.e., EBS) is implemented using known deprecated non-standard browser functions, and newer browsers, drop support for those non-standard functions in favor of well-established standards, then the fault lies with the web application, *not* the web browsers. In fact, if you are waiting until IE, FF, and the rest change their code to make EBS run again, well I think that wait will never end. Browser makers will win this battle, and it is incumbent upon the EBS developers to adapt to well-established modern web standards, not the other way around. So I stand by my statement -- the notice on the EBS home screen should indeed read, "We are working to determine when the system software will support Firefox 4 and Firefox 5 (for both Windows and Mac) and Internet Explorer 9." -- dkm At 7/6/2011 08:06 AM Wednesday, Esther V.
