Ever wonder how effective growing fruit and vegetable is in a hoophouse? Well MSU is conducting research to evaluate this very thing. Join us for a tour at the MSU Horticulture Farm, as part of 2011 MSU Ag Expo. The tour begins at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday July 20. You can catch the bus at the Expo bus stop located in the large parking lot off Farm Lane and Mount Hope Rd in East Lansing. Wait under the tent in the parking lot that is the “Expo Bus Stop”. Be sure to be there a little before 11 so you get a seat on the bus. The tour will take you to the Horticulture Farm (about 10 mins away). Six of the researchers will guide you through an hour and half tour showing you cherry trees growing in Hightunnels, blueberries established to identify best organic practices  and cucumbers and squash being grown to identify sound organic ways to produce a marketable crop. There will be plenty of opportunity to learn about what we are investigating and for you to ask questions. We hope you can join us for the event, Wednesday, July 20 at 11 a.m.  This event and all of Expo is free and open to the public. No pre-registration is necessary. Look forward to meeting you there!
