Accordingly, and without losing sight of the basic mission of the journal, implied by its very title, we have moved in that direction. The present volume is reflective of this strategy. The present issue covers a wide range of topics, from climate change in the context of current negotiations under the World Trade Organization, to vertical comparative advantage, value change and commercial policy. The last two articles explore regional trade and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) issues. One deals with bilateral FDI and exports, the other with FDI inflows into the Caribbean countries. We begin with a timely piece by Hufbauer and Fickling, addressing climate change negotiations and their impact on energy-intensive, trade-exposed (EITE) industries.
