POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN BUSINESS STRATEGY

 

STARTING DATE:            AUGUST 2012

 

QUALIFICATIONS:          The Management Department in the College of
Business Administration at Kansas State University is seeking to hire an
assistant professor for a tenure-track appointment. We are specifically
seeking candidates with strong interpersonal skills who are qualified to
teach and do research within the field of Business Strategy. Preference will
be given to those who can also teach in the areas of entrepreneurship or
human resource management, as well as those who have industry experience in
strategy, entrepreneurship, or human resource management. Responsibilities
will primarily include conducting and publishing academic research and
teaching two courses per semester, along with assisting in the service
mission of the Department. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to
conduct high-quality research projects for journal publication and
conference presentation. Prior teaching experience at the university level
is strongly preferred. It is required that candidates have completed a Ph.D.
in Business Strategy or a closely related field.  Candidates who are ABD in
these fields will also be considered, but must complete their PhD within 6
months of the starting date.

Administration is one of 10 Colleges on the main campus. The College, with
2800 undergraduate and graduate students and 55 full-time faculty, consists
of four academic departments: Accounting, Finance, Management, and
Marketing. The College is accredited by AACSB at the bachelors and masters
level in both business administration and accounting. 

 

DEPARTMENT OF             The Management Department is the largest
department in the college and grants about 300

MANAGEMENT                degrees each year. The Department houses two
centers and is active in several research initiatives.
