Vidyo Extends Next Gen Video Conferencing Platform to Enterprise Customers on Smart Phones and Tablets

VidyoMobile Enables Users on Mobile Devices to Join Video Conferences with Users on PC or Mac Desktops or HD Room Systems from Vidyo or Legacy Vendors

Hackensack, NJ – April 21, 2011 -- Vidyo®, Inc., today announced  VidyoMobile™, a groundbreaking solution enabling enterprise mobile users on iOS or Android-based smart phones or tablets to join multipoint video conferences with desktops and HD room system participants. VidyoMobile, honored as a “Best of Interop Finalist 2011”, will be available in July 2011 for enterprise users already using VidyoConferencing™.  To see VidyoMobile demonstrated, visit Interop in Las Vegas, Booth #1759, on May 8 – 12, 2011 or click here to see Vidyo working on the iPad2.

Revolutionizing the Economics of Mobile Video Conferencing for the Enterprise

By enabling devices like smart phones and tablets to participate effectively in video conferences with room systems and desktop users, VidyoMobile is a giant step in making Vidyo’s vision of natural communications universally available a reality,” said Ofer Shapiro, CEO and co-founder of Vidyo.VidyoMobile delivers HD multipoint mobile video conferencing to the enterprise, untethering users and turning popular tablets and smart phones into high performance video communication endpoints with quality available only on desktop computers to date.”

VidyoMobile is a quantum leap forward in mobile communications because it enables the only natural experience by utilizing Vidyo’s Adaptive Video Layering (AVL) architecture which dynamically optimizes the video quality and resolution for each participant’s environment.  VidyoMobile users can participate in low latency, high-definition, video conferences with decode up to 720p HD and encode up to VGA resolution. Users can also collaborate and view shared applications using their 3G/4G or WiFi wireless network, making themselves universally available, all at affordable price points similar to making a phone call.

Vidyo was honored at CTIA for Mobile Leadership and Innovation with the 2011 Mobility Trax Award  for Enterprise Mobility / Mobile Video Conferencing.  Vidyo demonstrated the first TV quality multipoint video conference on a smart phone during the keynote address at CES 2010.  Vidyo’s communication and collaboration platform was licensed last year by Elisa  Corporation of Finland which released  the first commercially available mobile multipoint video conferencing service on the Samsung Galaxy Tab and smart phone - the first such service  on any telecom network. Vidyo used its SDK to enable the  Apple iPad 2 to participate in HD 720p multipoint video conferencing within hours of general availability of the device.
