These cuts will affect more than 40,000 low-income, minority and disadvantaged students nationwide, barring them from receiving the services they depend on enter and succeed in postsecondary education. Many programs have suffered similar cuts, like TRIO for approximately $26.6 million. Still, others have fared much worse, like Striving Readers, Even Start and Literacy Through School Libraries, which lost their funding entirely. These cuts to GEAR UP and education as a whole are unacceptable and you need to let your Members of Congress know. Call to Action - Contact your Senators & The White House 1.
