REGISTRATION DEADLINE EXTENDED FOR GRADUATE STUDENT RESEARCH POSTERS! THE 4TH Annual Michigan Organic Farming Reporting Session Poster Contest

Graduate Students! You still have time to submit a research poster application by February 24, 2011.

The 4 ^th Annual Michigan Organic Food & Farming Reporting Session and Poster Contest will take place during Michigan State University’s Agricultural and Natural Resources Week (ANR) on Friday, March 4, 2011, from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. in the Kellogg Conference Center, East Lansing, Michigan.

Posters will be limited to 46” length x 46” width.  These posters can be on past or on-going research or outreach that includes organic agriculture production and marketing systems. Possible topics include, season extension, soil building, vegetable and fruit production systems, innovative pest management, and building community food systems.

The reporting session will give all who attend an opportunity to exchange information about organic agriculture. Researchers will share findings about organic farm production, management and marketing, presentations will be 12 minutes each plus 2 minutes for questions, followed by a panel of 3-4 farmers from different farm types to discuss their approaches to building soil quality. A reception with light refreshments will display graduate student research posters. Judges will determine the winning posters. A cash prize will be given to first, second and third place.
